Question about recording with a usb preamp?

I've been using my guitar's effects pedal's usb port to record music
straight to audacity. I want to record bass over it and the only way
to get the bass to sound ok is to bypass the preamp. The only problem
with this is i have no monitor so when I bypass.

I guess my question is how can record the bass straight to the
computer while using my amp as a monitor and bypassing the preamp?

I'm pretty sure there is no good answer for that question, so if
that's the case, where can i get a reasonably priced preamp with a usb
port for my bass?
